John Boyd Designs/ Salem House of Los Angeles, CA, is increasing its marketing efforts in the area of home office furnitures. The company, which introduced a computer armoire that can double as a storage armoire in April 1998, is once again featuring the product at the High Point, NC, market. John Boyd, which has added hutches and home office desks to the package since the July 1998 market in San Francisco, CA, expects to further widen the exposure of the products by taking it to the NeoCon commercial office furniture show in Chicago, IL, in June 1999.

Daniel O'Sullivan plans to retire

O'Sullivan Industries Holdings Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Daniel O'Sullivan has announced his plans to retire. O'Sullivan, joined the nation's third-biggest manufacturer of flat-lack furniture in 1962, will continue with his responsibilities until the company has found a person to replace him. After he retires, O'Sullivan will remain as consultant to the company. From sales of around $90 million in 1986 when O'Sullivan became president, the company now has annual sales of $340 million.
