La-Z-Boy enters RTA

Article Abstract:

La-Z-Boy has introduced a new line of wooden flat-packed furniture dubbed The Myriad Collection for consumers of ready-to-assemble office and home office products through its Contract Furniture Group. La-Z-Boy Contract director of marketing Gary VanderWood indicated that the La-Z-Boy Business Furniture Dealerships will be responsible for distribution of the contemporary-styled Myriad line possessing a cherry finish. Workstations, shelves, hutches and desks are just some of the moderately-priced furniture in this collection. The collection is slated for initial shipment in December 1998.

Ashley heats up home office

Article Abstract:

Ashley has launched seven SKUs in the home office furniture category and two office chairs. Among the new products launched included a 54-inch computer desk, 66-inch computer secretary desk, 48-inch computer rolltop desk, 35-inch traditional rolltop desk, 54-inch deluxe traditional rolltop desk, 2-drawer file cabinets, a cane-back office chair and an arrow-back office chair. According to Earl Berns, president of the company's case goods unit, the new products offer features that include pigeonholes, file drawers and rolltops to cover computer hardware.
