Los Angeles in living color

Article Abstract:

The husband-and-wife design team, Brian Tichenor and Raun Thorp, transformed their standard-sized, Los Angeles lot into a series of garden rooms, each decorated with drought-resistant plants. A fireplace, 2 fountains and citrus trees were integrated into the design.

The design of a small garden for a 1920s Craftsman bungalow in Venice, CA, is described. A screen of trees provides privacy in the rear yard. A palette of shades of green expands the space while creating depth.
