Nationwide's youth push

Article Abstract:

Room Plus's receipt of a loan worth $1.5 million from David Belford, who is the chairman and CEO of Nationwide Warehouse & Storage of Columbus, OH, could result in a merger of the two companies and bolster the former as a youth furniture specialty business. Sixteen-outlet Room Plus, which is a retailer and maker of predominantly mica-laminated youth bedroom, posted $16.9 million in sales in 1997. Meanwhile, Nationwide, which achieved around $131 million in sales in 1997, is a promotional furniture retailer with 84 outlets in Canada and the US.
