Article Abstract:
The 1991 IGP Seminar in Boston, MA, was well-attended despite the recession. The seminar followed its usual format of country panel sessions, complemented with one plenary session covering a topic of general interest and two special interest sessions. The plenary session covered the new world order and its opportunities for human resource professionals. Country panel sessions covered social security and employee benefits in Indonesia, Thailand, Zimbabwe, Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia and Singapore. Special interest sessions discussed executive compensation, developments in Eastern Europe and long-term care plans for an aging society.

NORACS seminar: New York
Article Abstract:
The results of a NORACS seminar on trends in European benefit design and financing are reported. NORACS is a network of seven independent actuarial firms with office in 16 cities in the US and tied up with Watsons International in the UK. The seminar, conducted in Jun 1992 in New York, was hosted by Bankers Trust and Williams, Thatcher and Rand, a benefit consulting and actuarial firm.
