A breathtaking problem

Article Abstract:

The developments to combat the most frequently reported respiratory disease in the UK are presented. Occupational asthma is unique in being the only type of asthma, which is readily preventable as per British Occupational Health Research Foundation (BOHRF), which is supporting the Health and Safety Executive in its aim to achieve a 30% reduction in occupational asthma by 2010.

Skin deep

Article Abstract:

A guide to work-related skin disease is provided and the employer's legal responsibilities in the workplace are discussed. The guide will include safe handling methods, training and instruction of employees to help them undertake their work safely, provision of suitable personal protective equipment (PPE) and skin care creams, and provision of adequate washing facilities.
