A benefit that saves money - and lives

Article Abstract:

Medic Alert is a health care benefit that employers can give employees for a one time fee of $20. Medic Alert is an identification service; people who subscribe to the service fill out a medical history that includes blood type, allergies, or 'hidden' diseases, such as diabetes. That information is then entered on the Medic Alert central computer, and the subscriber is given an identification bracelet that tells of any medical condition, and gives a toll free number to call for further information. This information can be crucially important in the event of a medical emergency.
