Using social learning theory to manage organizational performance

Article Abstract:

Social learning theory can be useful at the organizational level to explain some basic ideas connecting organizational culture and performance. Efficacy expectations and outcome expectations are two concepts in social learning theory which, when applied at the organizational level, can help improve organizational performance. Effective communication regarding these expectations will enhance performance, and examples include using the public media to communicate organizational achievement and internal publication of third-party testimonials on the organization's efficacy.
