AIMR-PPS-levelling the playing field

Article Abstract:

The Association for Investment Management and Research (AIMR) spent almost a decade to design an industry-wide performance presentation standards called AIMR-PPS, which later became the country's most widely adopted performance evaluation scheme. These standards are aimed at helping companies conduct asset and liability studies and handle cash-flow projections efficiently. Unlike other conventional standards, AIMR-PPS was designed to suit the needs of international and local business operations.

Performance management at the crossroads

Article Abstract:

An Institute of Manpower Studies survey on the use of performance management found two general trends, one linked to the use of performance pay systems to change organizational behavior, and the other, linked to skills training and employee development as a means to achieve long-term strategic objectives. The approach that emphasized reward and remuneration as the key to performance management was found to be the dominant policy used in the majority of firms surveyed.
