An international comparison of human resource management objectives and activities

Article Abstract:

A comparison of human resource management (HRM) in three different countries found that in all the countries HRM was thought to be vital. Questionaries were sent to companies in Zimbabwe, Canada and South Africa. Respondents from all three countries agreed that training was very important along with the development of good communications between members of an organisation. The respondents differed on some aspects of HRM, with those from South Africa and Zimbabwe wishing to develop a more local style of HRM whilst the Canadians looked towards foreign styles of HRM.
