Are your lips sealed?

Article Abstract:

The main problem with tight-fitting respiratory protective equipment is ensuring that there is an adequate seal between the wearer and the facepiece. Now, the Health & Safety Executive is to discuss whether Quantitative Fit Tests (QNFT), which are in wide use in the US, should be added to the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations in their next amendment. However, BS4275:1997 stipulates that QNFT only identifies gross misfits and does not indicate a proper fit. These interpretations of the test must be resolved if QNFT is to have a valid role in assessment of adequate fit.
