Article Abstract:

The question of management retention following a merger or acquisition is a crucial human resources (HR) issue. The retention of top acquired management is closely linked to the method of integration strategy. The essential aspect is that the acquiring company balance the perceived level of necessary control with the granting of a measure of autonomy that allows the acquired management to operate effectively.
