From stone age to space age

Article Abstract:

Portugal has made significant improvements in terms of its compensation and benefits practices. Compared to previous years when remuneration acted as a method of attracting and maintaining employees, the current remuneration practice being undertaken by Portugese firms is directed towards sharing productivity profits with employees. Companies in all of the country's industries are now adopting packages composed of incentive-based salaries, performance evaluation models and stock options, among others.
