Bill could enhance U.S competitiveness

Article Abstract:

The United States Senate designed a new bill to improve America's economic competitiveness, by providing significant and needed enhancements in scientific research and education. The Digital Opportunity Investment Trust Act is another bipartisan bill proposal included in future competitiveness legislation which provides funding for training, research, and development projects that use advanced information technologies.

New changes to apprenticeship program could be forthcoming

Article Abstract:

The proposed change in the National Apprenticeship System would require candidates to demonstrate competency in defined subject areas without specific time requirements. The proposed changes also include permitting distance learning in technical instruction.
