Debate on working time continues to rage

Article Abstract:

The issue of working time is raising considerable discussion in European countries like France, Germany and Belgium. The status of proposals on working time is discussed with particular reference to the legislations and agreements in the said countries.

Engine drivers in dispute

The German Gewerkschaft Deutscher Lokomotivfuhrer engine drivers' labor union is engaged in a dispute over collective agreement talks. The union is negotiating a separate agreement for engine drivers.

Agreement on temporary work

The BZA employer organization in Germany has reached a pay deal for temporary workers with the DGB confederation of trade unions. An original deal had already been reached in February 2003.
