Designing and managing employer-sponsored long-term care plans

Article Abstract:

Long-term care insurance plans signify a growing issue in employee benefits programs. Because of the increasing number of employees who are faced with the problem of providing medical care for elderly relatives or family members, companies incorporate such plans in their compensation packages. Employers find that including long term care plans in employee benefits is more efficient and cost-saving in the long run. Programs may include life insurance and death benefits, medical savings accounts, Medicare, Medicaid, individual and group long-term care insurance policies.

Personalized benefit communication: an application to retirement savings plans

Article Abstract:

A survey of civil service, administrative and professional employees of a US university to test the effectiveness of personalized messages for encouraging personal savings for retirement was carried out. The poll, which compared both savings plan members and nonparticipants, revealed that benefit communication brought about positive attitudes toward retirement planning. However, no differences could be obtained between impact of personalized and generalized messages on attitude changes.
