Evac+Chair: An emergency service

Article Abstract:

Employers are required to provide necessary services and assistance to its staff with mobility difficulties during an emergency or a building evacuation, such as Evac+Chair, manufactured by Evac+Chair International Ltd. The failure of the employer to provide care to its employees in case of an emergency may lead to allegations of corporate manslaughter and/or imprisonment against the employer.

The purpose of Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH) is both protective and preventive that involves positive obligations on employers to seek out the risks and take precautions against them.
