Expatriate learning: exploring how Japanese managers adapt in the United States

Article Abstract:

Two sets of survey, one is of 267 Japanese expatriates and another that surveyed 126 American managers, were analyzed to compare the adaptation techniques of managers in multinational corporations. It was observed that Japanese expatriates learn to adapt to their managerial roles more effectively over time compared to their American counterparts.

Neo-instead of post-Fordism: the transformation of labor processes in Hungary

Article Abstract:

The institutional heritage of an innovative work organization (teamwork) that emerged in state socialist firms in Hungary in the 1980s is discussed. The impact of foreign direct investment (FDI) on work organization and the role of employees in task-structuring in the post-socialist economy of the 1990s is also discussed.

Type A behavior at work - an empirical study of Taiwanese managers and entrepreneurs

Article Abstract:

The impact of occupation, age and gender of Chinese managers and entrepreneurs in Taiwan, on work behavior, is examined. Behavioral questionnaires are used to study the work behavior.
