Improving safety

Article Abstract:

Management, at times, is unaware of the hazards faced by the workers neither does it try to find out how the workers are tackling such hazards and this situation needs to be improved and the managers must try and instill safety culture in the organization. Safety culture is the condition where the view of safety taken by the company, its managers and its workforce is aligned with their views on all other business objectives and activities.

Power to the workers

Article Abstract:

The empowerment of the employee can be used as a safety improvement tool in the organization, but the modern management trends towards empowerment at employee level do little to encourage or support the supervisor in this task. The move towards empowerment is irreversible and is regarded as a major step, which leaves both supervisor and employee struggling due to lack of clarity of role expectation.
