Integrate workplace paradox

Article Abstract:

Paradox has become a fixture of corporate organizations. This is clearly manifested when management professes to embrace new concepts but continues to reinforce something from the past. For instance, the corporation might advocate teamwork but still use compensation and reward systems that are based on individual achievement. Also, the innovative idea of empowerment and entrepreneurial thinking are thwarted by the fact that it is the managers who still have the final say on things. The result is that employees become confused and helpless and their commitment to the company is affected. In this confusing scenario, human resources managers should intervene. They should assess the inconsistencies in their organizations and align the conflicting factors. They should also help employees understand and adopt to these paradoxes.

Are your temps doing their best?

Article Abstract:

Temporary employees may be performing below par because their employers fail to motivate them enough. Employers should recruit temporary employees as they would permanent employees. They can motivate temporary employees by training them for specialized tasks, giving them good salaries, pushing them to use their talents to the full and giving them opportunities to be creative.
