It's a matter of getting deserved benefits

Article Abstract:

The court case, McGann vs H and H Music, has prompted Reps William Hughes and Sherwood Boehlert to introduce a legislation prohibiting companies to reduce pension claims for expensive treatment after it has commenced. The legislation will thus ensure the rights of each employees for health claims and avoid discrimination. The case which was resolved in favor of the music store raised public outrage against the store and sympathy for McGann who is an AIDS victim. Such public support will thus ensure the passage of the said legislation.

A matter of vintage Washington politics

Article Abstract:

Individual Retirement Accounts legislation regarding new rules for more people participation of this benefit represents typical Washington politics. The legislature, in effect, allowed the law as a concession for votes. The Senate passed the proposal costing $2.5 billion in five years and the House ironed out some provisions. However, ciritics argue that the proposal is not worth it since very few people can save $2,000 on a tax deductible basis.
