The rights to privacy in working life of both the employees and the employers have become a great controversial issue in the U.K. The Data Protection Act 1998 imposes duties on employers for dealing with information on their workers, which applies to everyone who processes information.

Even though Health and Safety at Work Act was introduced in 1974, safety issues have been the priority of health and safety professionals. Few of these professionals have dealt with health issues. Health problems of employees result in absenteeism, skin diseases, etc.

Progress charted on corporate killing, directors' duties and increasing fines at landmark conference

Article Abstract:

The main three legislative reforms on the new offence of corporate killing, the imposition of duties upon company directors and increasing fine levels are discussed. The conference proceedings, held at the TUC by the Centre for Corporate Accountability, are given.
