Labor's triumphs and frustrations: new labor and electoral politics in the 2000 election

Article Abstract:

This article discusses labor unions' political activity during the 2000 U.S. presidential election and their support for Democratic candidate Al Gore. Issues include labor's defeat over the China Trade Bill which they had opposed, the election of Republican candidate George W. Bush as president, the Republican Party's control of Congress and opposition to organized labor.
