Managing change in South Africa: developing people and organizations

Article Abstract:

There is evidence that issues related to the value attached to people in South African companies are still not being adequately addressed. Many companies are still hierarchical and centralized. They lack flexibility, and generally do not encourage risk-taking. However, they are probably becoming more ready for change. A stronger client/customer focus is emerging, and quality, growth and productivity are being increasingly seen as the most significant success factors.
