National equality agreement

Article Abstract:

A draft agreement on the equal treatment of men and women at the workplace was reached on 1 March 2004. The social partners- the employers' association and the unions are meeting again to finalize the draft to be presented to the government. The French President Jacques Chirac says his government is committed to bringing about a real change in this regard through legislative initiatives.
