New labor market measures and labor code

Article Abstract:

The Polish government has passed a legislation that will ensure a labor code in line with the requirements of the European Union and the bills associated with labor reforms were also accepted by parliament in December 2003. The details of the labor code, including detailed employment contracts, guidelines regarding working time and equal pay for equal work, are studied in detail.

New legislation aims to promote equality

Article Abstract:

The details of The Employment Act 2004, which implements equality legislation, promotes equality rights covering larger scope than the previous act, are discussed. This legislation of European Union extends to self-employed, age discrimination, victimization and household employment.

Luxembourg presidency's social priorities

Article Abstract:

The employment and social priorities that the Luxembourg government proposes to pursue during its presidency term of European Council are discussed. These priorities include a mid-term review of the Lisbon strategy on working time directive.
