Ownership is not everything

Article Abstract:

The international consulting industry has seen a large number of mergers and acquisitions for 1997. Examples of these acquisitions include the purchase of Kwasha Lipton by Coopers & Lybrand and the purchase of Buck Consultants by Mellon Bank. Such acquisitions occur because of financial reasons, outsourcing and to build international relations. These reasons should not be the main focus during such transactions. High quality human resources and benefits should also be considered to ensure the long-term success and survival of the company.
