Pension fund investment inside and outside the European Monetary Union

Article Abstract:

The move towards a single monetary unit would post a long term economic advantage to the member nations of the European Monetary Union. It will give improve economic efficiency, remove trade imbalances and promote commercial liberalization, economic uniformity and competitive equality. On the other hand, non-members are also likely to avail of the long-term economic growth and benefit from the widescale investment freedom. But in terms of exchange rates, currency volatility for non-members will be unwelcomed and the biggest threat is that their market will soon be irrelevant with time.
