Plan now, enjoy later? A study of the use and effectiveness of formal retirement planning programs

Article Abstract:

Results of a study conducted on the significance and use of formal retirement planning programs showed that most retirement education program participants were females in their late 50's. Results also showed that pre-retirees focus on the financial aspect of retirement planing rather than on emotional, physical and mental health. Retirement preparation programs must include both the financial and health status of the aged in retirement to help participants establish good plans and initiate retirement planning activities on their own.
