Proactive approaches to tackling back pain

Article Abstract:

Proactive employer strategies to handling back pain include raising employers' and managers' awareness of such pain and its prevention, including policies on manual handling, quick access to employer-provided physical therapy, getting employees long-term sick leave due to back problems and helping such employees return to work with a structured rehabilitation program, and looking at job design as a factor in back pain.

"Lean and keen": fitness initiatives at Air Products

Article Abstract:

Air Products, a British manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, believes its on-site fitness centers and other employee wellness facilities are an important part of its holistic approach to health at work as well as a valuable employee benefit. Air Products' contributions to employee wellness won the company a 1998 award. Health and safety are top corporate objectives.
