Probing how people think

Article Abstract:

Psychological testing can be a valuable tool for screening job candidates. The psychologist should have business experience and be cognizant of the legal requirements concerning equal employment opportunity. Tests and interviews can be tailored to discern the proper candidate that will meet the organization's needs, and can also be used on present employees for determining the proper paths for career development. Psychological testing can be valuable in preventing the hiring of unsuitable employees, and professionals claim that one-on-one testing has a predictive accuracy rate of 85%. Testing can offer insight into a candidate's overall intellectual ability, basic skills, personality, and interests and inclinations.

Almost-perfect performance appraisals

Article Abstract:

Employee performance appraisals can provide important feedback on job performance, and a standard form is described which has been developed that is flexible enough to apply meaningfully to a wide variety of jobs.
