Remuneration

Article Abstract:

Foreign companies that are operating in France have difficulties in adapting to French remuneration practices because of some cultural differences. Among these are the preferences of French to group reward plans, their need to feel covered for most medical and disability expenses and to investing in unit trusts rather in pension funds. Foreign employers should develop remuneration policies that motivate employees such as Participation and Intressement profit-sharing plans.

Remuneration

Article Abstract:

Projections of salary increases, compensation package structures and remuneration trends in Hong Kong are discussed. Hong Kong's wages are rising sharply as a result of inflation. Double-digit wage hikes in turn fuel inflation because they increase the cost of doing business. Nevertheless, Hong Kong remains popular among multinational corporations looking for a regional base that can serve as a springboard to China and other emerging Asian markets.
