The 1987 Crash: what crash?

Article Abstract:

The US stock market crash on October 1987, which severely affected the New York Stock Exchange Dow Jones Industrial Average, also influenced international markets such as the UK, Germany, and Hong Kong. However, in the succeeding years starting 1988, markets were able to recover with levels in Australia by 50% and Canada by 80%. The 1987 event positively influenced activities in the US pension funds industry since investors viewed the decline in prices as an occasion for buying rather than selling.
