The "post-bureaucratic" public sector organization. New organizational forms and HRM in ten UK public sector organizations

Article Abstract:

"Post-bureaucratic" organizational forms and human resource management in ten public sector organizations in the UK are studied. Structural changes in public sector organizations tend to form a "neo-bureaucratic" system, adding internal complexity. Managers in these organizations have harsher working conditions and less job security.
