Article Abstract:

Results from a survey of 246 firms in Ireland were used in developing and testing a model that demonstrates the influence of human capital philosophy on the organization's performance and innovativeness promotions. It was found that enhanced human capital causes new products to be developed, and that innovativeness moderates the relationship between the organization's performance and human capital philosophy. The implications of the industry evironment and survival difficulty on a firm's strategy are also discussed.
