The slow rise and sudden fall of OSHA's ergonomics standard

Article Abstract:

The growing number of repetitive strain injuries with the spread of repetitive motion and Computer-automated work in the economy represents the leading safety and health hazard on the job, which can be prevented through the science of ergonomics. The ergonomics standard of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) was repealed by President George W. Bush.

Got Air? The campaign to improve indoor air quality at the City University of New York

Article Abstract:

The issue of poor indoor air quality at workplaces and the ways to improve the air quality are discussed. An innovative approach to this problem is undertaken by the Health and Safety committee of the Professional Staff Congress of the City University of New York with their "Got Air?" campaign.

Criminal Neglect: how dangerous employers stay safe from prosecution

Article Abstract:

The deaths at the work place due to the clear negligence and cost-cutting on the part of the employer are discussed. The unions worldwide are calling for corporate accountability to extend to workplace safety crimes and for the immurement of the most dangerous offenders.
