Unions wrestle with corporate codes of conduct

The relationship between corporate codes and trade unions movement, the functioning of Worldwide Responsible Apparel Production and the three non-profit code monitors in Central America is examined. Second generation corporate codes were found to have the potential to increase working-class power by having clear, impartial principles for code application and monitoring behavior

A variety of government agencies and social services feel the necessity to offer translated and other related services to LatinoEs the fastest growing segment of the US labor movement. Unions should provide better outreach in order to build a stronger union having a voice, a participation right and equal protection under the contract.

Paid educational leave for union representatives: a closer look at the costs of access, delivery, and who pays

Article Abstract:

The European experience on paid union educational leave is surveyed. Accordingly, a costing model is developed where delivery and access costs are assessed and recommendations to shift costs from the worker and the union to the third party are given.
