Variation in the average leadership behaviour of managers across countries: Finnish expatriates' experiences from Germany, Sweden, France and Great Britain

Article Abstract:

There are differences in average management styles between Sweden, France, Germany and the UK, according to the experiences of Finnish expatriates on assignments in these countries. However, it is difficult to separate variations between individual managers from variations between countries. Despite this, research based on the expatriates' reports has been able to establish a model of typical characteristics of leadership styles of managers from the countries concerned.
