Websites: using the web to study asbestos

Article Abstract:

Over 3000 people die in Great Britain every year as a result of mesothelioma, asbestosis and asbestos related lung cancer . Although new asbestos use has been eliminated in the U.K. Building and maintenance workers will continue to be exposed to the major health risks for the rest of this century. The full text of the Control Of Asbestos At Work Regulations can be found online on the HSE subscription service at www.hsedirect.com under "Legislation, UK Sis". A searchable list of these available on the HSE site www. hse.gov.uk/asbestos, along with details to apply for an asbestos license. The Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors at www. rics.org.uk expresses concerns with the competence of those making the assessment and producing the asbestos management plan.

Perceived fairness of web-based applicant screening procedures: Weighing the rules of justice and the role of individual differences

Article Abstract:

Four established characteristics of procedural justice and one additional characteristic (automated versus human decision agent) were manipulated in a policy-capturing design for examining the relative importance in predicting fairness perception in a Web-based applicant-screening context. It was observed that all five-justice characteristics influenced fairness perceptions.

Form, content, and function: An evaluative methodology for corporate employment web sites

Article Abstract:

The findings from two qualitative analysis of organizational web sites are reported, the data was drawn from two years the list of ' Best Companies to Work For ' from the magazine Fortune. The analysis provides insight about how to form, content, and function of employment web sites affect job seekers employment-pursuit decisions.
