Article Abstract:

The 'soft machines' coming into contact with the moving, pitching, cutting and crushing parts of machines constitute the largest cause of accidental deaths in UK manufacturing. The workplace equipment focusing on the ways to prevent deaths and injuries caused by contact with moving machinery are discussed.
