Abusing "discrimination" in insurance underwriting

Article Abstract:

A group of feminists are busy lobbying a bill with the goal of preventing property insurance from denying a claim if the policyholder's loss occurred because of 'abuse.' Furthermore, insurers are prohibited from cancelling policies or raising premiums on the basis of abuse-status or abuse-related claims of the applicant or insured. Insurers are presumed to practice fair and reasonable discrimination when they assess and classify applicants for insurance on the basis of risk. They have been granted by law with the authority to make reasonable classification according to its legal basis.
