An introduction to insurance applications on the World Wide Web

Article Abstract:

The World Wide Web (WWW) offers many advantages to insurance companies. At present, the WWW serves mainly as a marketing tool allowing companies to build corporate images. In the near future, however, the WWW may be used to handle electronic requests for product information, investment allocation, claims submission and insurance applications processing. An offshoot of WWW called intranets also hold numerous applications for the insurance industry.

Selling personal lines insurance on the Internet

Article Abstract:

The Internet may soon become an integral part of an insurance company's operations. At present, the Internet is used primarily as a marketing tool to develop a corporate image. However, it may soon be used to handle insurance applications and process claims. Despite its numerous applications, insurance companies will continue to depend on sales representatives to provide invaluable services.
