Bulletin boards now have gone corporate

Article Abstract:

Electronic bulletin boards can be a useful too for insurers now that they are proliferating at the corporate level. Bulletin boards have gone from esoteric computer-industry tools to mainstream business applications. They can be divided into public, private, customer service, registration, and for-profit categories. There are many useful functions that insurers can use, such as downloading rate files, research of databases, professional reference research, and sending information to claims adjusters.

Will the Internet be the next yellow pages?

The Internet is fast becoming a looking-glass through which corporations can find future clients, business partners, and forms or doing business. Many large corporations are already using the Internet to find new business opportunities, and the computer network's international audience allows greater global range than most other forms of communications. Businesses can consider creating a home page on the World Wide Web, to serve as a marketing and research tool for clients and customers.

It's deja vu all over again: a new wave of vendors is redefining the agency systems market

The proliferation of new vendors selling high functioning and low cost agency management systems is being driven by the high costs of traditional vendors' management systems for smaller agencies. Another factor contributing to this trend is the increasing initiative among regional carriers to define and implement interface alternative to increase their market share and technological flexibility.
