Cost-effective EAPs pay off in the long run

Article Abstract:

An average US employee experiences complex incidents both in his personal and working life. The corporate world must respond to unique factors that significantly affect an employee's work performance, particularly those concerning alcohol and drug abuse as well as mental health disorders. Employee assistance programs are available for troubled employees to bring them back to optimum productivity. These programs, though varied in implementation, are considered as investments for the companies.

The keys to implementing managed care

Article Abstract:

Managed care plans previously covered many health insurance features which includes hospital precertification, health maintenance organizations and outpatient surgery. Managed care is now redefined to mean point-of-service networks. These networks control cost because discounts are given without neglecting quality of care, primary care physicians limit excessive special check-ups and employees pay more if they seek health care treatment outside the system.

Meeting behavioral healthcare needs through managed care

Article Abstract:

Employers should not ignore the need for behavioral healthcare. Companies and benefits administrators should select properly managed behavioral healthcare programs rather than eliminating such programs to control costs. Costs of behavioral healthcare programs can be minimized through the use of programs such as group therapies, short-term therapies and therapeutic groups and classes.
