Level the playing field with common game plan

Article Abstract:

Property insurance companies can lower their costs by adopting a more uniform approach to receiving bids from contractors. Currently, each contractor looks at the site, decides what needs to be fixed, and presents a bid. This leads to ununiform bidding. The insurer should present each contractor with a comprehensive list of items needed to do the job and detailed descriptions of what needs to be fixed. The low bid would always get the job, and all contractors would have to present relatively low bids to stay competitive.

Bancassurance in French P/C lines is slowly becoming profitable

Article Abstract:

Bancassurance is a growing trend in the French property and casualty (P/C) insurance market. The practice allows banks to act as insurers or as marketers of insurance products. Bank employees must complete a comprehensive training program and earn an insurance license before selling insurance products. Bancassurance sales of P/C personal insurance in France are expected to reach 6% to 8% market share by the year 2000.
