Helping the small employer helps employees

Article Abstract:

A recent study by the Workers Compensation Research Institute on claims for lost time related to workers compensation in Wisconsin suggests that employees of the smallest companies are three times less likely to return to their former workplace than those who worked for the largest firms. The study also showed that employees who did not return to the firm that employed them prior to their injury were likely to spend two to three times longer in terms of time off work, thus leading to potentially more frequent periods of unemployment.

Insurance brokers' identity crisis: a risk manager's view

Article Abstract:

Insurance brokers are changing from intermediaries between an insurance company and a customer to offering different kinds of services. Some insurance brokers are handling insurance as a commodity which they control. Other brokers provide investment banking services. There are other insurance brokers that provide consultations rather than transaction management.
