General Electric (GE) is one company which has reaped the benefits of its Website for employee benefits. GEs's benefits department experienced a reduction of 25,000 calls monthly. Also, it cost GE $8.00 to answer a telephone call while it only has to pay $1.00 for a Website inquiry. Its monthly savings reached $175,000. For employees, an online facility will allow them access to benefits even at their homes. Benefits information is also disseminated instantly and inexpensively.
