Rewarding for performance - any real progress?

Article Abstract:

Pay schemes based on performance have become the focus of salary management theories but their implementation has not been generally satisfactory. According to a survey of 1,150 employees, there is as yet no clear relationship between pay and performance. On the other hand, results of a management survey showed that executives believed otherwise. Among the more popular ways of implementing the concept are variable pay strategies and relating base pay to demonstrated competence.

Compensation strategy in the new organization

Article Abstract:

Compensation managers used to develop compensation strategies out of tradition or formality. The compensation strategies resulting from such efforts were thus disconnected from the overall business plan. However, new business demands have resulted in the development of new compensation philosophies that aim at aligning compensation strategies and incentives with business goals. A method for developing a compensation strategy is presented.
