Taking the air out of air bag concerns

Article Abstract:

The insurance industry must take a leading role in addressing public concerns about the risk of front passenger seat air bags deploying while rear-facing infant seats or small children are in the front seat. Airbags have cut driver fatalities in frontal collisions by 20%, and insurers must continue to push for greater use of airbags and safety belts. The industry has so far focused on educating the parents of young children, so that they are aware of the risk and secure their children properly.
