Universal life policy survey

Article Abstract:

A quarterly survey of 185 universal life policies effective August 1, 1992, is presented. The policies are offered by life insurance companies that have licenses in at least 25 states and have outstanding premia of at least $500 million in ordinary life and $5 million in direct ordinary life. Listings include current interest rates, policy values for the guaranteed accumulation value and current accumulation value, and current surrender values. Values are presented for a $100,000 policy on a 45 year-old male non-smoker with an annual premium of $1,500.

Individual and group annuities in 1991

Article Abstract:

Annuity sales statistics for the top 200 life insurance companies in 1991 are presented. Overall, group and individual annuity premiums, which totaled $130.6 billion, grew 1%. Information includes the amounts of such annuities as group, individual, single-premium deferred, flexible-premium retirement and guaranteed investment contracts. Lincoln National Life Insurance Co was ranked first in the individual annuities category. Prudential Insurance Company of America was first in group annuities.

Variable annuity premiums - 1990

Article Abstract:

1990 annuity premiums totaling at least $1 million are given in chart form for all life/health insurance companies. The premium statistics are also broken down by group versus individual, and annuity premiums versus fund deposits. Metropolitan Life led both the group and combined markets. Teachers Insurance and Annuity Assoc ranked first in the individual market.
